IGAVANIA (n): A gothic, exploration-focused action platformer, designed by one of the godfathers of the genre!
IGAvania was a term created during the Kickstarter and defined there.
The term is synonymous with “Metroidvania”, but may further specify that the game was designed with Koji Igarashi involved, also know to his fans as “IGA”.
