“Magic is impressive but now Minsc leads. Swords for everyone!” -Minsc

Swords have medium range, speed and damage. They focus on Cut damage. They're the largest single type of weapons in the game, even before we add the Maces and Special weapons.

Maces also falls in under Swords, and uses the Sword Expertise shard. They also share the same techniques as swords. They are slightly slower and focus on Strike damage.

Special weapons are ones that functions in unique ways and doesn't work similar to any other weapons. They still use the Sword Expertise shard, but have no techniques.

Notable that the Force Blast technique have special animations on weapons with elemental damages. This technique can also be found natively on 25 different weapons. Followed by Power Slash on 6 weapons. No other technique exceeds 4.
