WIP books

Explained as well as I can. Thanks to ccat for info and testing.

Visit OD and talk with him to start borrowing books. The basic principle is that the first time you speak with him he will let you borrow 1 book. Once you've walked around enough different rooms and areas in the castle, and talk to him again, he will let you borrow another, for total of 2 books. And same again for walking around more different rooms and areas, for a total of 3.

Entering new areas/biomes enough times and go back to OD and talk with him again. It seems the maximum needed area/biome change is 2, and you can do this with just using the teleport.

• Save before OD
• Talk with OD (book1)
• Use the Warproom, and warp to random 2 other warp rooms and back
• Talk with OD (book2)
• Use the Warproom, and warp to random 2 other warp rooms and back
• Talk with OD (book3)

This means you can easy get all 3 books before fighting Andy.

Not a bug, NG+ will always set your books to 2, from the first time you talk with OD, and this can't be changed/increased.

Defeating the optional boss OD, will let you take all the books. (21)

Bugs:

• If you trigger the “Talk about Train Pass” event with OD, when you have only 1 book, you'll get book 2, but won't get book 3 afterwards.
• This can be worked around in some cases, the easiest is to go visit the train station before talking with OD first time. Then Talk with OD for book 1, and talk with him again straight away to get the “Talk about Train Pass” event out of the way. You can then get book 2+3 the way listed above.
• (There is still a bug that could leave you at 1 book total, that we haven't figured out how to trigger yet)

Straight forward, as you uncover more map percentage, OD will have new books that you can borrow. This is completely independent of the number of books you can borrow at the same time (above). You could have 100% map completion, and still only be allowed to borrow one book at a time (Through either avoiding OD or a bug).

Details:

• Increases Strength by +10
• Generally one of the best Tomes through the entire game, free damage with all weapons.

• Increases Intelligence by +10
• Generally one of the best Tomes through the entire game, free damage with all spells.

Details:

• Increases Constitution by +10 (Defence by +5)
• Can be ok in Nightmare, otherwise would skip.

• Increases Mind by +10 (MDef by 05)
• One of the weakest tomes in the game, would not recommend.

• Good for farming, not much else.

• Increases Luck by +15
• Good for farming, not much else.

• Increases Resistance Ice with +15%
• Useful if you want to make a 100% Resist Ice build vs OD.

• Increases Resistance Fire with +15%
• Too situational

Details:

• Increases Resistance Lightning with +15%
• Too situational

• Increases Resistance Darkness with +15%
• Too situational

• Increases Resistance Light with +15%
• Too situational

• Increases Resistance Petrify with +15%
• Too situational

• Very good for any weapon based build

• Increases Move Speed with 20%
• Great for Quality of Life as normal movement is way too slow, not really any use in combat.
• Obsolete once you get the Accelerator shard.

• Increases Experience Points with 20%
• All XP increases should also work on familiars (unconfirmed)
• Good for grinding, not much else.
• Completely useless in Nightmare for obvious reasons.

• Increases Technique Experience with 20%
• If you plan to grind out mastering all the Techniques it's an obvious pick, no other use.

Details:

• Description is actually wrong and it includes four books and not just 3:
  1. Mastery (Technique XP)
  2. Prowess (Attack Speed)
  3. Tactician (XP)
  4. Tailwind (Move Speed)
• Required to enable the fight against OD

Details:

• Increases Familiars with 20%
• Not entirely sure how the familiars scale with the numbers, I assume just more damage?
• Considering how little damage familiars do in general I don't consider this one very good

Details:

• Increases Directional Shards with 20%
• Very good with some of the strong Directional Shards in the game if you build for INT/spells:
  • 8Bit Fireball (clear winner here)
  • Teps Oceus (not the best damage dealer but good room clearer)
  • Bolide Blast (another good contender)
